"I am a physics major also interested in exploring other sciences like chemistry and biology. I took Bio 270 while having only recently taken Bio 191. Having not done biology since middle school before that, it was definitely challenging taking biology again. However, despite my minimal biology background and my physics-tuned view of science, I learned a lot from Professor Purdy’s class. Professor Purdy was very good at lecturing and breaking down concepts into simple terms. Whenever I was struggling, Professor Purdy was available to help during office hours and 1 on 1 meetings. She gave very helpful feedback, and was very understanding of my position as a non-bio major, but still took me seriously as someone who wanted to learn the subject rigorously. I am very glad I took this class with her, and I would be thrilled to take another class with her again had I not be graduating this semester."
