"Prof. BSE is a unique lecturer and is a serial rambler. HOWEVER, this course is less about learning new things and much more about exploring ideas with your peers and their personal journeys with "language crossing." Clusters, which are small peer groups that meet outside of class with BSE to review essays, are the most valuable part of the course (arguably more than the readings or lectures). You will really enjoy them if you engage with your peers' work. Also, BSE is a fun, interesting, well-read, and open-minded person. At the end of the course you get to visit his house and feast on treats. Just embrace the silliness."
