"Professor Firmani is one of the best lecturers I've had at Amherst. He is very intelligent and prepares well for class, both of which are evident in the way he guides lectures. I appreciate the way he tries to give a voice to those who participate less often, as well. He is very helpful during office hours and responsive via email. I appreciated the materials he assigned (a mix of theoretical literature, current events, and films). I highly recommend this class and professor."

"Prof. Firmani does a good job articulating the main thesis of the course, which is, what can we learn about law, culture, humanity, and AI, from examining the interactions between them in cultural products (lots of cool movies to watch in this class) and in theoretical texts. It's great for practicing cultural analysis, so if you like to talk about movies, plot, shot composition, etc. it's really fun. His feedback is super kind and helpful, but his grading isn't quite as kind (it's still very fair though). It's definitely a humanities class in the sense that we really get into what being human means in the context of AI, but it's less technical or specific about laws or AI technology."
