"Professor Dole is a great teacher as he easily makes complicated historical/philosophical concepts understandable, and when talking about controversial topics, he doesn’t make anyone feel like their opinions don't matter. In fact, the way Professor Dole teaches makes each person feel valued because of their particular belief (or non-belief) commitments. This was especially valuable in a class about Christianity and Democracy since Prof. Dole led us to a place of trust and respect for one another, where we could converse more freely about the subjects at hand. In grading, I think Professor Dole is looking for those who do the readings, engage in class, and write super clear papers that demonstrate thought and understanding. "
