"If you do poorly on the first essay it's a little difficult to climb back up, but understand that the point of this course is not necessarily writing feedback or course discussion as much as it is about reading as much Dostoevsky as humanly possible. You read Crime and Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov back-to-back. "
