Good for non-majors? Yes
Teaching: Lecture, Full class discussion
Reading (pages/week): Maximum 20 pages- Usually it was one to two articles in our course pack which class would revolve around
Homework (hours/week): It depended. Sometimes assignents were very short and were personal reflections but sometimes they were more tedious and long requiring research and a few pages of writing. There would only be one assignment each week though.
Essays: The only official essay assigned was our final which was a 2000 word research paper but there were other writing assignments but they weren't necessarily a structured essay.
Exams: No exams

"This course is very well structured and every assignment and reading is chosen with care"

"This class was not the traditional art history class, in that we did not go as in depth in on the history of the artists and art we discussed in comparison to the depth of our observations. The assigned essays were designed to be strictly observational and outside research on any works was discouraged. "
