Reading (pages/week): Lots! Sometimes (for books) up to 200-300 pages but not that heavy every week. The readings were many but very interesting.
Homework (hours/week): Depends on how fast you read and write. Lots of fun readings and 3 papers (around 25 pages or so of writing if I remember correctly)

"This course was lovely, and the class grew to be a strong community, yet warning: Do not take this class if you do not enjoy reading and talking about uncomfortable subjects. We discussed things including but not limited to: -Cultural Appropriation and Racial Hoax -Violence and Suicide -Sexual Abuse and Sexually Explicit Content -Literary Truth and Literary Truth Also, get ready to write things that you may feel nervous and/or uncomfortable to write about. This class isn't called problematic for nothing. Overall, I believe Prof. Kapur and Frank did a good job covering these topics and making everyone feel heard. Definitely go to office hours. You will learn a lot, and it may change the way you think about these difficult elephant-in-the-room topics. If this sounds appealing to you, this class if for you. If not, consider a more traditional English/creative writing class."
