Good for non-majors? Yes
Teaching: Lecture
Reading (pages/week): at minimum 50 pages of a combination of plays, epic poem chapters, and primary sources
Homework (hours/week): Multiple hours of reading were assigned but
Essays: 4 essay options were assigned but only 2 were mandatory. More could be done for extra credit.
Exams: There was a written midterm and final and I don't think they were curved

"Lectures were not mandatory and honestly not very helpful really. You could answer the essay questions and midterm questions by just doing the readings, which most people barely did in the first place and did well, and looking at the primary sources assigned. The readings were very interesting but this course was a slog and while I gained knowledge on the classical world and their religion I could have gained the same knowledge by doing my own research."

Good for non-majors? Yes
Teaching: Lecture
Reading (pages/week): anywhere between 50 to 200+
Homework (hours/week): varies greatly
Essays: two out of class. two in class as a miderm and a final
Exams: 2. written. not curved

"Professor Sinos is clearly knowledgeable about the topic. However, its a huge class and very few students are engaged. It's easy to skip, readings are so irrelevant to lectures, and the exams are much more specific than seems reasonable. Study guides are absolutely useless and leave you unprepared"

Good for non-majors? Yes
Teaching: Lecture
Reading (pages/week): Significant, usually 150-200 pages a week (tended to be play + some outside articles / excerpts from other readings)
Homework (hours/week): Reading was the only homework really + studying for exams took abut (6-7 hours per week normally)
Essays: 4 essays (had to do at least 2 but up to all 4) ~750 words
Exams: 1 midterm and 1 final (not curved)

"The information is super interesting and I highly recommend for anyone interested in greek mythology. However it was a little difficult to communicate with Professor Sinos outside of lecture (she would often not be in her office during time dedicated to office hours even if you emailed in advance). Lecture material was all very interesting and expanded on the myths we read however sometimes it was a little chaotic. "
